Born
in Kutaisi, Georgia, Vitali Imereli began playing violin as a talented
five-year-old at a music school, later completing his education in 1979
at the National Music Academy in Tbilisi. During the period 1979-85, Vitali
acted as teacher at the Tbilisi College of Music. From 1978 to 1991,
he participated in a variety of jazz festivals in several locations from
Georgia through Russia and Europe in general. |

In 1992, Vitali moved to Finland. Performances then ranged from Germany and Sweden to various parts of Finland, with TV appearances and radio programs following. Vitali has played at the internationally renowned Pori Jazz Festival every year since 1991, as well as at other important festivals in Finland. May 1996 saw the release of his new album "Tribute to Staphane Grappelli". In May and June of this year Vitali was on tour with Rosenberg Trio performing in Turku and Helsinki, then continuing on to the Kajaani, Alandia and Pori Jazz Festivals. Later in July he enjoyed successful performances with Didier Lockwood and Rosenberg Trio in a Tribute to Stephane Grappelli at the North Sea Jazz Festival. |

Vitali

Trio, Ulf Johansson, Bob Gulloti, Gipsy Kids, Daniel Walsh, Carlos Del Puerto,
Didier Lockwood etc.
