Los Mas Valientes’ all-female sister band Anaïsa returns to TrumpetsJazz Bar for their second special Women’s History Month performance in as many years. These powerhouses of the NYC Latin jazz scene will perform original and standard works by women composers.
Alberto Pizzo Born in Naples 33 years ago, Pizzo worked for the Italian television network Rai creating scores for the show “Geo & Geo” (RaiTre, 2007). In 2011, he moved to New York where he met the actor Michael Douglas who invited him to play at his galas. In this context, the pianist met, among others, Henry Williams, the leader of the rap group Sugar Hill Gang, who offered him a contract of cooperation, and Stephen Murphy, a close artistic associate of Julliard School and the Metropolitan Opera, who commissioned the music for a theater project inspired by the Met in a John Ford movie. At the beginning of 2012, Pizzo recorded his first cd “Funambulist” containing some reinterpretations of famous soundtracks signed by artists such as Morricone, Bixio, and Goblin. Also in 2012, supported the opening of some acoustic tour dates Ron. In November of the same year, as part of Cabarete Jazz Festival, in Santo Domingo, he met guitarist and producer Fabrizio Sotti.
