Founder and lead singer of ‘Heart Like a Wheel,’ Stella Crispo has been a sought-after singer and songwriter for many years. Her career has taken her from performing in high-profile bands to recording jingles and appearing in off-Broadway’s Tony ‘n’ Tina’s Wedding. Stella has been heard at Newark, NJ’s Performing Arts Center many times including giving a pre-show concert for Liza Minnelli and has performed the National Anthem at Prudential Center two years in a row.  She is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division, and has an undergraduate degree in Classical Voice and recently completed her Masters in Music.  In September 2017, Stella performed at Dante Hall in Atlantic City, NJ in a tribute to Luciano Pavarotti with Italian tenor Augusto Celsi.  As a songwriter, Stella began writing at an early age and continued throughout high school and college.  Invited by an agent in Brescia, Italy to participate in the Sanremo Music Festival, Stella received rave reviews for the performance of one of her songs ‘Dream Come True’ that took her through the many rounds of the festival, landing her among the top remaining contestants. One of her other tracks, ‘Finally,’ has been frequently used as a wedding song.  In 2010, Stella was asked by international artist Philippe Valy to write the anthem for a new anti-smoking campaign. ‘Day After Day’ was completed shortly after.  Many songs later, Stella’s current library includes ‘Show Me,’ a song inspired by her son, and ‘The Best Christmas’ dedicated to those in the armed forces who are able to be home for Christmas.

‘Heart Like a Wheel’ is one of Stella’s many projects and emphasizes the early pop/rock career of her greatest influence, Linda Ronstadt. The band is comprised of seasoned professionals, and HLAW’s first show at B.B. King’s in Manhattan was a huge success.  ‘Her music, her voice, her heart have forever left a print on mine.’  ‘Heart Like a Wheel’ will definitely leave a print on your heart and memory as well.

Glenn Dinetz (piano/keys) was one of the members of The Fuzz Band, a group of all North Jersey police officers who enjoyed brief fame on the news channels. He was also a member of a popular local band, The Cherry Brothers for over 20 years. While in the corporate world, Glenn was the arranger and producer for the Big 4 professional services firm Deloitte Consulting’s big band Unrestricted Entity.  He is thrilled to be playing with ‘Heart Like a Wheel.’

Paul J Baccash is a guitarist/singer who performs solo as well as with full bands of all genres. He performs at casinos, clubs, festivals and even does weddings and other private events. Paul is also a Songwriter, Producer and Engineer and owns his own professional recording studio.

Nick Attila (violin/guitar/vocals) is a virtuoso violinist with an extensive performance background. He is a multi – genre artist with the capability of playing multiple instruments including violin, viola, guitar and electric bass and many more when dabbling in the recording studio. A graduate of Manhattan School of Music, Nick is a prolific instrumentalist and has been heard as a soloist with major symphonic orchestras.

Tony Ventura (electric and upright bass) has a BA in Music from City College of New York (Ron Carter). Some of his Broadway and Off-Broadway credits include RENT, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, PIRATE QUEEN, TONY AND TINA’S WEDDING and MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL. He has been seen on the SOPRANOS playing bass beside Nancy Sinatra and in the Disney movie ENCHANTED.  Other film credits include LIPSTICK JUNGLE, BOARDWALK EMPIRE, DAMAGES and MAD MEN.  Tony has worked with numerous singers including Lou Christie, Mel Carter, Darlene Love, Jay and the Americans, Nelson Brothers, Bobby Rydell, The Drifters, The Tokens and Shirley Austin Reeves.  He has worked with jazz guitarist Melvin Sparks, Shinobu Ito and jazz saxophonist Junior Cook.  He is a busy freelancer in the jazz, blues and R&B circuit in the NYC/NJ area.

Joe Calabria (drums) has been playing since 1971. Although his musical influences span anywhere from Led Zeppelin to Steely Dan, his first major influence was The Beatles.  Joe has played with numerous bands in various genres and clocked in many recording hours in studios throughout his career.  He enjoys being a part of  ‘Heart Like a Wheel.’
