The Little Big Band

Frank Basile and The Little Big Band come in to Trumpets with a unique big band sound combined with the creativeness of a small improvisational group. The brass quintet featuring the unique tuba and French Horn combination, along with the three saxophones up front, bring an interesting and colorful driving sound. The traditional rhythm section with added guitar enables the group to play traditional straight ahead charts as well as fusion style compositions. The musicians include; Frank Basile (music director, alto&soprano sax, flute&piccolo, clarinet), Gerry Cappuccio (tenor sax, flute, clarinet), Vinny Cutro (trumpet), Roy Nicolosi (baritone sax, bass clarinet), Marty Bound (trumpet, flugelhorn), Philip Jones (trombone), Allessandra Rodda (french horn), Steven Carr Tuba), Bob De Benedette(piano), Ron Naspo(bass), Rich Visone(drums).
Frank Basile is a graduate of Julliard School of Music, and has extensive big band experience with Buddy Rich and Woody Herman, vocalists Frank Sinatra and Rosemary Clooney.
Vinny Cutro has performed with the bands of Buddy Rich and Horace Silver. He has recently recorded a new CD under his own name and is a member of the Mike Treni Big BandGerry Cappuccio has big band experience with Lionel Hampton and Don Ellis, vocalists Tony Bennet and Carmen McRae.
Marty Bound has performed with the Duke Ellington Orchestra and Charlie Parsip, Joe Williams and Roberta Flack.
Philip Jones has extensive performance experience with the Nashville Brass, also with Patti Austin and Linda Ronstadt.
Steve Carr has performance experience Rob McConnell Band, also John Faddis and Bryon Stripling.
Alessandra Rodda is a recent graduate of Manhattan School of Music with performance experience in musical theater, and jazz band.
Roy Nicolosi performs with several local New York and New Jersey big bands.
Bob DeBenedette has performed with Tommy Dorsey Band and the Harry James Orchestra.
Rich Visone has extensive experience with Lionel Hampton Orchestra, also Tommy Dorsey Band, Rosemary Clooney and Barry Manilow.
Ron Naspo has performed with many New York artists including Marlene Ver Planck.
