“SPEAKING OF LOVE…” It’s VALENTINE’S DAY!! And, what better way to celebrate the ones you love than with elegantly funky entertainment, beautiful music, good food, convenient location and great hospitality?!!
Local Montclair entertainer, TY STEPHENS, returns to Trumpets with his newly renamed band, SOULJAAZZ, after a lengthy absence, to welcome this new year with the celebration of love! Ty and the Band have been very busy with international engagements, including another Summer in Monte Carlo at the world-famous Sporting Club (opening for, among others, Grace Jones, Seal, Prince, Steely Dan, George Benson & Strings, Moby, Duffy, and Leonard Cohen ), and at Moods Nightclub, where they are the most popular band according to their growing European fan base.

“We’re inviting all our fans in the area to write and send in their best Poem/Spoken Word on the subject of love for this Valentine’s Day event”. The best 4 will be selected to be read aloud by professional actors, to musical accompaniment by the members of SoulJaazz. “One of our readers will be none other than our dear friend, the original “Aunt Viv”, Ms. Janet Hubert (local Montclairian) of TV fame”, joining her will be Actor/Director/Producer Lenny Bart of 12 Miles West Theatre Co., actress/writer Donniee Barnes of The Center For Spiritual Living North Jersey , and more (to be announced)!
Copyrighted (preferred) and clearly identified with name and contact info, send your brief, romantic Poem or Spoken Word to ty@tystephensmusic.com, for consideration *(submitted material implies consent to have it read publicly).

SOULJAAZZ features RICHARD CUMMINGS, Jr, (Music Director/Keyboards), RON “RONDEW” MONROE (Bass), TONY LEWIS (Drums) and R.T. TAYLOR (Guitar).

“SPEAKING OF LOVE…”, Songbirds Unlimited Productions, in association with Trumpets Jazz Club, will be honoring none other than Montclair Times Entertainment Editor JOAN FINN with an award for her unwavering promotion and support of the Arts and area Artists! Please join us for this important recognition and celebration! Visit www.tystephensmusic.com
